Enfanti m72 Ceramide Review and Giveaway

Serious Relief for Dry, Damaged Hair
Bioken just launched a new line called m72 Ceramide and I was chosen to give a few of the products a try. According to their PR firm, this exclusive system of shampoos, conditioners and treatments is free of sulfate, paraben, gluten, and alcohol, and is ideal for damaged, chemically treated hair. It uses certified organic extracts and 72 essential trace minerals that work together to provide a highly effective transfer of major nutrients into the hair. Ceramides, a component of the hair cuticle, restores elasticity and strengthen strands.

One of the three types of lipids found inside of the scale-like structure of the cuticle, Ceramides work to reinforce hair and keep it intact. In damaged hair, the Ceramides are missing, which results in dull, coarse and dry tresses. By adding Ceramides back into the hair, these lipids bind the scales of the cuticle together and result in healthy, smooth and lustrous strands.

The proprietary m72 system uses a blend of essential oils including safflower, grape seed, olive, coconut, palm, and macadamia along with USDA certified organic extracts from green tea, chamomile, acai fruit, rosemary, sage, nettle, and others. This formula provides trace minerals that are essential to the body and offers the most effective infusion of nutrients into the hair and scalp.

The m72 Ceramide products I tried included:

m72 Ceramide Shampoo
Complete daily-use shampoo uses 72 trace minerals and Ceramides to restore balance and retain essential lipids while adding elasticity to hair.

m72 Ceramide Conditioner
Conditioner combines 72 trace minerals and Ceramides to effectively restore hair’s natural balance, while it detangles and smoothes strands.

m72 Ceramide Treatment Mask
Luxurious mask helps repair, moisturize and smooth hair into a perfectly velvety texture. Restores elasticity and strengthens hair while giving strands a protective barrier.

My Take: As a fan of the line I was eager to give these new products a try. Having dry, coarse and chemically treated hair that tends to be frizzy it sounded like a good fit. First I used just the shampoo and conditioner for a week and a saw a marked improvement in the softness of my hair. It was less frizzy and felt soft even if I didn't flat iron it that day. The scent was light and gender-neutral, which is great. I'm not a big fan of overly sweet or "girly" smelling products.

Already pleased with the results of the shampoo and conditioner, I introduced the Treatment Mask for my weekly deep treatment. I used as directed, leaving on for several minutes and rinsed afterward. The comb easily slid through my wet hair when detangling and the blow-drying (I use a boar bristle round brush) was actually easier to do. My hair was left so silky, shiny and oh-so very soft that I could not stop touching it. If you have dry, damaged hair like me, this is a must-try... Especially the mask! Thanks Bioken!

NYFW How-to: The Back Knot

International Creative Director and celebrity stylist Giannandrea made the “The Back Knot” a Fashion Week must-have at the Nicholas K Spring/Summer 2016 show. A modern twist on the Asian classic top knot, here’s how he did it:

Hair Look:The Back Knot

Lead Stylist for Macadamia Professional Celebrity Stylist Giannandrea

Step-by-Step:
• Slightly dampen hair with water and create a center part all the way to the highest point of the head. Evenly distribute Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer from the roots to the ends.
• Section hair from top of head to ears, combing down from the part. Take back, large sections and blow dry using a diffuser and the Macadamia Professional Boar Bristle Paddle Brush.
• For heat protection and added shine, apply Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Oil Spray onto dried hair. Run a flatiron through all sections to straighten hair.
• Gather all hair at the nape of the neck using the paddle brush and create a tight, low ponytail. Secure the ponytail in place with an elastic and reinfoce with pins.
• Then, secure the weft of extensions onto the elastic.
• Take a small section of the weft to hold aside.
• With remaining hair in the pony, create a loose loop and secure with another elastic.
• Wrap the small section of loose hair around the elastic, securing it with a pin and spray the Macadamia Professional Style Lock Strong Hold Hairspray for lasting placement.

The Healthy Hair Diet

The Healthy Hair Diet
Drop the french fries & frozen meals! Hair La Vie explains the top food
do’s and don’ts for healthy, long hair.

You are what you eat. “Taking vitamins are a great way to help make your hair fuller and grow faster. But while you're patiently waiting, a change in your diet can make a huge difference and even help expedite the process," explains Carla Rivas, hairstylist and co-founder of the all-natural hair growth vitamin Hair La Vie.

“Any foods that would make you breakout, such as those filled with sugars and grease are going to cause a buildup on your scalp that's going to affect the way your hair feels, looks and grows. Anything that irritates your skin (think ice cream) will bother your scalp, which can damage your hair follicle. A damaged hair follicle will either grow weak hair or not grow hair at all.”

Top Food Don’ts

1. Sweet Treats
Sugary foods like your favorite candies or cupcakes cause your insulin level to rise, which also causes an increase in androgen (a male hormone) in your body. This hormone is known for causing hair follicles to shrink or become irritated. This leads to hair thinning and hair loss.

2. Greasy Foods
The grease form fatty meats like fried chicken and french fries can cause more secretion on the scalp. Also, a lot of the time after eating greasy foods people touch their face and hair without washing their hands. This causes both acne and damage to the hair. You need a clean, debris free scalp or your hair will not grow healthy and your follicle could be damaged.

3. Salty Foods
Think chips and canned/frozen meals. Consuming a lot of salty meals and snacks will dry your hair out and leave it weak, lifeless and breaking.

4. Low Protein, Filler Foods
Starches like pasta and a lot of cereals which can be low in protein will leave your hair limp and unhealthy. That bounce and shine most ladies want is not possible without a healthy dose of protein.

Top Food Do’s

People should be eating nutrient and antioxidant rich foods like fruits and vegetables. These help hydrate your scalp and strengthen your hair.

1. Eggs
Eggs contain the protein, zinc and iron that your hair and body needs. Zinc benefits for hair include promotion of cell reproduction, tissue growth and repair of broken tissues. It also maintains the oil-secreting glands that are attached to your hair follicles, thus decreasing their chances of falling out.

2. Tomatoes
Tomatoes have antioxidants that aid in scalp circulation. A healthy scalp leads to happy hair. Add to a salad or mix into your favorite dish for a pop of color and tons of fresh flavor.

3. Greek Yogurt
Greek yogurt is an amazing source of protein, vitamin B5 and vitamin D. Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is great for keeping the scalp clean and free from film and debris. This keeps the follicles from becoming irritated and promotes healthy, strong hair growth.  Add fruit, nuts and granola for an energizing midday snack.

4. Lean Protein
Opt for healthy lean protein sources like grilled chicken or baked salmon. Your hair is made of protein so it only makes sense that you're going to want to enjoy nice lean proteins. If your diet lacks protein your body will begin rationing the protein left which will lead to hair loss. Protein also has the iron you need for healthier, beautiful hair.

Mermaid Eye How-to

Make a Splash with Mermaid Colors
One of London’s best selling cosmetics brands, Makeup Revolution, has arrived in the USA, celebrating with the launch of the Mermaids Forever Ultra Eyeshadow Palette. This  collection of shades allow you to recreate the many tones found in the seas, capturing the beauty and fantasy of mermaids. The 32 ultra-pigmented, ultra-colorful, ultra-fabulous hues will bring these aquatic fairy tales and folklore to life. Allow your inner mermaid to emerge with this breathtaking selection of jewel tones from vivid sea greens to striking cobalt blues.

To Create the Mermaid Eye:

1. To begin, start with proper cleansing and moisturizing of the eye area. This will set the foundation for a beautiful eye.

2. Apply a thin layer of Makeup Revolution USA’s Cream Concealer from the Cover & Conceal Palette according to your skin tone on your upper lid. This helps to cover any discoloration while creating the perfect blank canvas. If needed, apply concealer under the eye to camouflage dark circles and brighten the eyes with twinkle.

3. Line your inner eye with your favorite liner in blue.

4. Apply a neutral tone on the brow bone blending the color to the end of your brow line. For added highlight, select a light shimmer and apply a thin line directly under the tail of your brow.

5. With your eyeshadow brush apply one of the sea green tones over the entire lid. Next, use a clean eyeshadow brush and blend using circular motions to above the crease line.

6. Next, apply a thin layer of the same tone as in step #5 and line the lower lid.

7. In the crease area, apply a soft stroke of cobalt blue for contrast and definition.

8. Finish the Mermaid Eye with your favorite black liner on the upper lid, followed by your favorite mascara. For an added pop of color select from one the ultra-pigmented shades like a cobalt blue or copper tone to line the eyes.

While the hair cools down, leave brush in the hair to solidify curl & move on to next section. Repeat all around crown. Remove brush when the hair has completely cooled down.

Roll hair strand with hands & secure pin curl with Double Clips. Repeat until all hair is pinned. Apply hairspray to hair. Remove all clips, loosen curls & tousle hair with hands.

Smooth out hair with Divine 100% Boar brush by brushing 1” away from roots. Repeat this all around face for lift at the roots with a smooth finish.

Trend Watch: The Lob - Beautiful Lengths

3 Lob Styles to Try Right Now

Think the lob is over? Think again.

Thirty-one-year-old blogger Kimberly Pesch has been rocking super-long locks since she was 13 — almost two decades! — ever since a botched haircut made her skittish about cutting her hair. But she's finally decided to part with 8 inches of her natural blonde hair. What's inspired the mega-move — one she was a tad nervous about? A really good cause: Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Since 2006, Pantene has been collecting hair donations for wigs — it takes eight to fifteen 8-inch-long ponytails to make just one. The wigs are then given to the American Cancer Society, which distributes them to women who've lost their hair during chemotherapy treatment. (Normally, a real-hair wig costs a whopping $800 to $1,200, and health insurance may not cover all of it.)
